Site managers also known as construction managers who are responsible for supervising construction sites and running construction projects. They plan, organize, control and coordinate the construction of civil engineering projects, buildings and dwellings.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Building Science or Civil Engineering

Salary Estimate: AUD $80000 - $140000 or CAD $70000 - $130000

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

  • Demonstrated experience in project scheduling, cost control and Management.

  • Solid commercial and contracts experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as an engineer in the construction industry.

  • Interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.

  • Coordinating labour resources, and delivery of materials, plant and equipment.

  • supervising and overseeing the direction of the project (or a package), ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs

  • consulting with Architects, Engineering Professionals and other professionals, and Technical and Trades Workers

  • Report work progress and budget matters to clients

  • Preparing tenders and contract bids

  • Operating and implementing coordinated work programs for sites

  • Ensure adherence to building legislation and standards of performance, quality, cost and safety 

  • Maintaining quality control procedures.

  • Building under contract, or subcontracting specialized building services.

  • Overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors' work.

  • Arranging building inspections by local authorities.
